Patrycja Grabowska, for her thesis entitled “Hybrid materials containing praseodymium oxide as effective catalysts for the process of obtaining green hydrogen” (supervisor: Dr. hab. Anna Ilnicka, NCU prof.) and third place in the category of master’s theses for M.Sc. Katarzyna Pianka for her work entitled “Multifunctional fluoropolymer membranes with controlled surface properties” (supervisor: Dr. hab. Joanna Kujawa, NCU prof.)
2023
- Diploma of the Minister of Education and Science Przemysław Czarnek at the International Invention Fair INTARG 2023 in Katowice for the project Pt-FREE TAILOR-MADE ELECTRODE MATERIALS – the invention of the research group consisting of: Dr. Piotr Kamedulski, B.Sc. Paweł Binkowski, B.Sc.Weronika Arendarska, B.Sc. Kinga Wachowicz , M.Sc. Maciej Lewandowski, Dr.hab. Paweł Szroeder, UKW prof. and Prof. Jerzy P. Łukaszewicz
- Four medals during international fairs in Poland, Serbia, France and Taiwan for the team: Dr. Piotr Kamedulski, B.Sc. Paweł Binkowski, B.Sc. Weronika Arendarska, B.Sc. Kinga Wachowicz, M.Sc. Maciej Lewandowski, Dr. hab. Paweł Szroeder, prof. Nicolaus Copernicus University and Prof. Jerzy P. Łukaszewicz (he was also recognized with two special awards). The subject of the awarded invention is a method for obtaining hybrid carbon matrices with the addition of gamma radiation and melamine foams. Thanks to this component, a material was obtained simultaneously enriched in nitrogen and sulfur. The electrochemical properties of the material confirm that soon it may become an ideal replacement for expensive elements such as platinum or palladium. The team developed the invention “Pt-Free Tailor-Made Electrode Materials”. The research group was recognized with three gold medals during international fairs in Bydgoszcz (E-INNOVATE International Innovation Show 2022), Serbia (Tesla Fest 2022) and Taiwan (Kaohsiung International Invention & Design EXPO). The silver medal was awarded to the invention at the Prix Eiffel in Paris in December 2022. The team also received two special awards: one from Norton University of Cambodia and the other from the World Association of Intellectual Property and Inventions.
- Scholarships under the Municipal Scholarship Program, established in 2014 by the Toruń City Council: Zuzanna Gralak i Kamil Brzuzy (Chemistry and Technology of Food), Natalia Bańka (Forensic Chemistry) i Paweł Binkowski (Medicinal Chemistry).
