Hydrogen Technologies and Energy Storage Group
The Hydrogen Technologies and Energy Storage Group under its present name since the beginning of 2022, after the transformation of the previous Synthesis Research and Modeling Team of New Materials, established in 2007 on the initiative of Professor Jerzy P. Łukaszewicz. Previously, some of the team’s employees worked under the supervision of Professor Michał Rozwadowski, who formed the basis of the team in the 1980’s.
In recent years, the team’s research has focused mainly on the synthesis and research of carbon-based electrode materials for use in electrochemical energy stores and generators. Research has now been initiated to generate green hydrogen as an energy carrier of the future. Some of the team members specialize in theoretical and computational chemistry.
The team has implemented and implements a number of national grants: NCN (Preludium, Opus, Sonata), NCBiR (Lider, Tango, Norway Grant), Ministry of Science and Higher Education (Innovation Incubator, Innovation Incubator Plus) and international grants (bilateral cooperation Poland-ZIBJ Dubna, Maria Curie Fellowship). The team’s employees participated in research internships in Germany, the USA, Japan, South Korea, Portugal, Spain, and cooperate with research teams in the USA, Japan, South Korea, Russia, the Czech Republic, and Kuwait.
